This is in response to complaints from several users who have recently questioned their accounts being deleted for allegedly violating spam and fraud policies.
In addition, complaints also came from users of premium services whose services could not be used, both YouTube Premium and YouTube Music.

Reported by Phone Arena, Saturday (5/10), the restoration of accounts that experienced the problem was announced via the YouTube support page and the company asked users to be patient waiting for a full recovery.
“We’re working to restore access to the last few videos, thank you for your patience! We know this is a frustrating experience, and we appreciate your patience while we resolve this issue,” YouTube said in a statement.
In addition to accounts and channels that were restored in this case, paid users who previously lost access will also be able to access their premium services again.

YouTube also announced that for accounts that are actively used by users as creators and have YouTube channels with playlists, there may still be playlists missing at the beginning of the recovery.
However, they asked creators not to panic and stated, “This is just a delay and all your content will be restored soon”.
This announcement is indeed generally intended for YouTube users who are included in the content creator category, but users who are not content creators should also get account recovery if they have previously experienced similar problems.

The “bug” referred to in this case was discovered after several users received notifications that their accounts were blocked from the platform or their channels were deleted.
Account holders received an email saying, “We’ve reviewed your content and found severe or repeated violations of our spam, deceptive practices, and fraud policies. As a result, we’ve removed your channel from YouTube.”
The email from YouTube explained the appeals process, and some have used it as a way to restore their accounts and channels.
With the direct restoration from YouTube’s system, some users said their service had been restored, but others said their service had not been restored.

YouTube extends Shorts duration to 3 minutes
YouTube has again made a significant update to its short video service, namely Shorts, by extending the duration to 3 minutes.
Thus, creators can be more flexible in presenting short video creations and are no longer limited to very short durations.
In the official YouTube blog post uploaded by YouTube Shorts Director of Product Management Todd Sherman, quoted Sunday, the Shorts duration of up to three minutes can be uploaded by creators starting October 15, 2024.

“This is the most requested feature by creators, so we’re excited to give creators more flexibility to tell their stories,” Todd said in the blog post.
The additional duration for Shorts will apply to videos with a square aspect ratio or higher, and will not affect videos uploaded by creators before October 15.
YouTube will improve recommendations for longer Shorts in the coming months.

In addition to increasing the duration for Shorts, YouTube is also making several updates to content creation.
For example, by providing templates, YouTube Shorts creators can easily follow the latest trends and adjust their recorded videos to viral songs or other trends.
To try a template, users can select the “Remix” option in Shorts and select “Use this template” to create their own version.

In addition, YouTube will also bring Veo, Google’s AI model that is capable of creating videos, to Shorts.
“Creators will be able to bring their ideas to life with more extraordinary video backgrounds and standalone video clips, which will make your Shorts even more stunning later this year,” said Todd.
Finally, YouTube also provides an update for users to adjust their preferences for accessing Shorts content.
If it feels too much, YouTube users can select the “Show fewer Shorts” option by clicking the three-dot menu at the top right of any Shorts grid in the Home feed.
After that, users will be exposed to less Shorts content on their Home.
